As one of the key NGO partners supported by Save the Children (Sweden), Youth Alive! Kenya worked with government agencies to ensure the protection of children from inappropriate institutionalisation and demonstrated a viable alternative to custodial care. We also sought to influence the practices and policies of key government and non-governmental agencies at regional and national levels. The project was implemented for four years with Youth Alive! Kenya acting as policy advisors and providing administrative support to the District Teams.
