Introduction

Youth participate is a partnership project implemented by Youth alive Kenya, YETT(Youth empowerment and transformation trust)-Zimbabwe and CYECE(Center for youth engagement and civic education)-Malawi with an aim of increasing increased participation of young people in decision making processes in Kenya ,Malawi and Zimbabwe. The project is supported by NOREC(Norwegian Agency for Exchange Co-oporation)

Project Objective

The project aims to strengthen all three Partners (YETT, YAK, and CYECE) and their respective Member organizations (MOs)/Clubs/working groups’ technical and financial capacities to be able to effectively run central activities, contribute to and develop their own organizations for meaningful youth participation in all spheres.

The project provides an avenue for the three partners to learn from each other and their MOs and the youth clubs in return delivering greater youth participation in socioeconomic and political spheres.

In realizing meaningful and inclusive youth participation, the project also contributes to the fulfilment of the Sustainable Development (SDG) indicator 10.2 which seeks to empower and promote social economic and political inclusion of all and SDG indicator 16.7 which seeks to ensure responsive, inclusive, participatory and representative decision-making at all levels.”

Project Outcomes

1. Strengthened  partnership  between  the  partner  organizations  to  influence  and contribute to increased youth participation in the respective countries

2. Member organizations and youth clubs have increased knowledge, skill and capacity to network and participate in decision making processes.
