Gender equality in Kenya
Kenya has made significant progress towards gender equality in the last decade. Despite this , Kenya has room for improvement in the areas of parenthood, entrepreneurship and assets.(e.g. only 2% of Kenyan women own land) . This is also seen in the levels of domestic work as well as in the sexual reproductive health sector.
Theory of change
Our theory of change assumes that young people lack access to accurate information about sexual health and reproductive rights, mental health services leading to risks. In addition, gender inequalities and traditional gender norms contribute to disparities in unpaid care and domestic work, limiting women’s economic empowerment and overall well-being.
