Economic empowerment and livelihoods
Challenges facing young people in Kenya
Youth Alive Kenya works with young people who face significant challenges including unemployment further exacerbated by the ever changing business environment which affects entrepreneurship. Access to markets and opportunities also pose a challenge hence the need to advocate for policies that promote youth economic empowerment at the local, regional, and national levels in partnership with like minded organizations. This will ultimately contribute to sustainable livelihoods for young people.
Theory of change
The theory of change assumes that young people in Kenya have untapped potential which can greatly contribute to the Country’s development and attainment of the SDGs. In addition, evidence-driven and innovative programs can effectively address the emerging needs of young people.
Lastly, we also assume that aligning our programming with national, regional, and international frameworks enhances the impact and relevance of programs and impacts young people.
