Dennis Mungo
Executive Director
Mr Dennis Mungo is currently the Executive Director of Youth Alive! Kenya (YAK). In his role, he steers YAK’s vision of a society where young people are empowered to realize their full potential. In particular, he works to break the self-perpetuating cycle of exclusion of young people so that they may actively chart and address issues affecting their well-being and development by empowering and providing a platform for them to amplify their voice in the development discourse and emerging realities that they face through robust youth engagement. He has over a decade’s experience and passion working on human rights programming, governance and access to justice having previously worked with the Kenyan Correctional Services. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of London, and another Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems and Technology from United States International University. He is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Administration. Dennis has a strong passion for his work as well as to share knowledge, skill and experience geared towards empowering the young people in Kenya and beyond.
Edmond Magara
Head of programs
For over six years, Edmond has honed his expertise in Youth and Livelihoods programming, Strategic Partnership, Resource Mobilization and Organizational Development. Working with various National and INGOs, Edmond has led local, regional and global teams to enhance participation, influence policies, and build economic resilience for the youth. He holds a Msc. in Development Studies from JKUAT. Edmond is a certified Project Management for Development Professionals (PGMD Pro).
George Maina
Partnerships and RM Coordinator
George has a decade of experience in program management and development. He is an expert in governance, human rights, and economic empowerment, working on national and global projects.

Margaret holds a Bachelors degree in Education. What sets her apart is her unique ability to bridge the world’s of Education and Administration. She is a dedicated, hardworking and detail-oriented individual with internal drive to deliver excellence. She possesses exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. She plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless operations of the office. Currently an Office Administrator at Youth Alive! Kenya.

Colette Simanto is a dedicated Monitoring and Evaluation professional with a strong track record of 5 years in the Non-Profit sector. Committed to advancing gender equality, human rights, and social justice, she actively advocates for a more equitable world. Her expertise lies in meticulously assessing and managing projects, ensuring their impact aligns with her mission to create positive societal change. Eve holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She is a multifaceted finance professional with a diverse background in Accounting, Grant Management, ongoing professional development as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and a specialized role as a Financial Modeling and Valuation Analyst. Currently serving as a Finance and Admin Assistant.

Scolla Kitiwa is a diligent finance & admin professional who possesses a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance. Her diverse skill set includes expertise in Quick books, Grant administration, MPESA, Cashbook reconciliations, Expenditure vs. Income reconciliation, Procurement, Payment preparation, and Budgeting. In her role, she leverages her financial acumen to make a meaningful impact in the finance and non-profit sectors, aligning with the organization’s mission.
Victoria Nyokabi
Program Assistant
Victoria is a creative thinker, resourceful problem solver, and clear communicator. She is an experienced program coordinator whose work leverages in programs, project implementation, fundraising, humanitarian work, advocacy and online campaigns. She collaborates with youths and their organizations to bring in resources that they need to grow innovative initiatives, as well as disrupt the status quo and open up spaces for collective action.

Kilhah is currently serving as a Programs Intern, where she assists with the development and implementation of youth advocacy and capacity building projects. In the past, she has advocated and conducted research on the mistreatment of Black girls within domestic, educational, and correctional spaces. Currently, Kilhah is pursuing a self-designed degree in Post-Colonial Studies and Science, Technology & Society. Through her time at Youth Alive, she hopes to gain a deeper understanding of gender equality, program development, resource mobilization and policy influence, within the Kenyan context.
