Meaningful involvement of young people can be achieved through formulating and implementing national youth strategies policies and scaling up the institutional and legal framework to foster youth engagement and representation in public life at the national and county levels.

Economic empowerment and Livelihoods

Youth Alive Kenya works with young people who face significant challenges including unemployment further exacerbated by the ever-changing business environment which affects entrepreneurship. 

Social wellbeing and gender equality

Kenya has made significant progress towards gender equality in the last decade. Despite this, Kenya has room for improvement in the areas of parenthood, entrepreneurship and assets. (e.g. only 2% of Kenyan women own land). This is also seen in the levels of domestic work as well as in the sexual reproductive health sector.
