Memory Chitanda

Memory Chitanda is a 23-year-old Malawian girl who is passionate about economic growth and development of the nation. She holds a Bachelor’s degree Economics and Psychology from the highly esteemed University of Malawi, Chancellor College.  She is a consultant in business development, an events planner, public speaker, entrepreneur and national youth champion in policy advocacy. Memory is a specialist in building SME capacity with a passion for entrepreneurship. At 21, she founded and became the Managing Director at Glow Motivation, a company limited by Guarantee which offers motivation services to different stakeholders especially secondary schools in rural areas. Memory is also part of Monitoring and Evaluation Technical Working Group (TWG) under the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Development. This group analyses and gives recommendations on Government policies implemented in Malawi. In her free time, Memory loves reading books, writing blog articles and sight-seeing. She is working towards being influential enough to have a vote in the decision-making on crucial issues affecting the nation and help transform Malawi, Africa and the whole world.

She is one of the selected candidates to represent Malawi in the exchange program. Her expectations for the program include: increased knowledge on mechanisms for youth participation, gained expertise in intercultural communication and organization development, widened network and increased ability to develop effective and complex solutions that have multi-national impact.
